A professional aerial search can be especially useful when the ground is open and slow to cover.

Ground searches alone can be slow and exhausting. Viewing open ground from the air can help cover more of a suitable search area in the early stages of a search, so long as the location, weather and airspace allow it.

How does a drone search for a missing pet work?
A professional pilot flies a camera equipped drone over an agreed search area so open ground can be viewed from the air. It supports a search on foot rather than replacing it.
Can thermal drones help find a missing pet?
Thermal imaging can sometimes help identify heat signatures in suitable conditions, particularly in open areas or where visibility is limited. It is not able to see through solid objects, buildings or dense vegetation, and effectiveness depends on environmental conditions and the equipment available for the assignment.
Can drones search woodland?
Woodland edges, scrubland and open ground work best. Dense tree cover can hide a pet from view because a drone camera only sees what is visible from the air.
How quickly can a pilot attend?
We aim to match a suitable pilot as soon as we can, but timing depends on pilot availability, daylight, weather and airspace. We cannot promise a fixed response time.
Can every missing pet search use a drone?
